Cats
Cats, love ’em or hate ’em as an artist at some stage you’ll probably draw one!
I have actually done quite a few both serious studies and cartoon cats and today I thought I would share some of my artwork of cats with you. They are all drawn using different materials. Some have been drawn using pen nib and coloured inks, some are in oils and others in watercolour, depending on what I was doing.
Strangely enough nearly all my cat drawings have either been private commissions or for my Christmas card designs or just as samples. Only once has a cat appeared in a commission piece, which was for Oxford University Press. Mostly its dogs clients want, and over time I have done quite a few illustrations of dogs for Heritage Art Papers – usually ridiculous dogs doing daft things!
I have also produced a ‘how to draw a kitten’ video for videojug, which can be found at www.videojug.com. Just type my name into the search box (Lyn Stone), and scroll down to the right video (I have done over forty for them).
Here’s two for you!
