Flaming
Flaming January?

Flaming disastrous January! My apologies for the mysterious wall of silence so far this new year but I’ve had a kind of Laurel and Hardy stirred with Mrs Brown start to 2021!
Somehow whilst ‘seasoning’ a new wok (a Christmas present), I managed to turn my hob into Danté’s Inferno! Flames flew and so did my wok, splashing boiling oil over my right hand. And I’m right-handed! When my thumb started to resemble a barrage balloon it was time to visit A&E, somewhere you want to avoid right now.
Blackboards are cool
However, I have bounced back and have even begun drawing again, which is a good thing, as I’m really busy! Thank goodness I have an old-fashioned blackboard organiser and my trusty iCloud! Alexa helps too but she does like to dominate conversation at times and she’s a tad bossy too.

Naughty Squirrels
Soon I will be able to share illustrations from a lovely, little book I recently illustrated. The client wanted black and white illustrations for the internal pages and so all the illustrations are greyscale. I was really excited about this, because it has enabled me to showcase another illustration type, which is greyscale and black and white. I will eventually put a new folio up of just black and white work, because it is a popular option, especially for children’s illustrated novels.
Crazy animals
However, today I am sharing a selection of mad-cap guinea pig and squirrels! They are in my folio too. In 2020 I created quite a few illustrations following Halloween, Diwali and Christmas. These are a mixture of hand-drawn, hand-painted and digitally created artworks. Enjoy (I hope)!
Now, don’t forget, if you need any fun animals or characterful illustrations, please contact me here and I will try my best to help! Or visit my Facebook here page (if you like).
