Christmas card designs
It’s reached that time in the year when I have to start thinking about my Christmas card designs artwork for the winter! I know, I know very early, but I usually find that July and August is the best time to do new sample artwork and my Christmas card artwork, and so that’s what’s going to happen.
Christmas card designs: With that in mind I thought I would share some previous year’s designs with you and they range from Dragon’s dressed as Santa, right through to Christmas fairies! I am not entirely sure what I am going to do this year, but I think it would be nice if it was all about children and their pets this year.
This artwork was drawn using a technical pencil, probably a 2B led, which is quite soft. It’s just a bit of fun really! I would just a commission to actually draw a humorous dragon, maybe for a picture book. In colour it would look fabulous! To see more designs, go to my blogspot posts and search for ‘Christmas cards’.
This one has been drawn using a nib pen and coloured inks and was originally used by Templar Publishing for a dummy book for the major international book fairs and was intended for the gift book market, but I thought it doubled up nicely as a Christmas card!
