Hobbledown book
It’s about time I shared a picture of the Hobbledown book with you. The first in a series of four! It was great for me, as I got to illustrate inside the book and the jacket, which does not happen that often!
Hobbledown book: the book itself has been published in hardback and paperback, and is available on amazon! The book was designed to promote the new Hobbledown adventure park, but like many things it has become very much an entity on it’s own, and in many ways inspired and fed back into the Hobbledown site. Many the characters in the books have their homes built within the park, and my artwork featuring the characters can be found all over the adventure park.
It is quite a classic design and I have to confess to wanting to do something a little more exciting than this, but you always have to keep the client happy, which is why I had to squeeze in two skibblers (bottom corners) and the Hobbledown village in the background!
The jacket was drawn using coloured pencils and then enhanced further in Adobe Photoshop to get the depth of colour, which mirrors the colour range being used elsewhere within the park by the design company used.
