Puppet show
At the moment I am doing a favour for a friend who needs back-drops for a puppet show that will be touring the libraries in the London Borough of Bromley. I think it is intended as a Christmas event, maybe a puppet pantomime?
Puppet show: I have been asked to do three backdrops. One needs to be a street scene, and so I’ve gone for a typical panto street scene, along the lines of ‘The Shambles’ in York. Another scene is the inside of a cottage and for this I took inspiration from a project I did recently for a client. They wanted an illustration of a typical Cotswold cottage interior. So I have used something similar for my puppet show back-drop. The last back-drop needs to show the interior of a library. This needs thinking about. I could go for a modern, brightly coloured interior or an old-fashioned library. Haven’t made a final decision about that yet.
I am unable to scan the back-drops to share them with you, because they are so huge and so instead below I am sharing pictures of ‘The shambles’ in York, so you can get a good idea. I have also included the illustration of the Cotswolds cottage interior (with the two grumpy grannies, who feature in the story).
