The Yuk Factor
The Yuk Factor, Hodder Children’s Books
I worked in this project a few years ago now and it truly was ‘the yuk factor’, but it was great fun and something I thought I would share with you. They wanted a real cartoon style and so this pictures are quite different to my usual stuff you can find elsewhere on my website.
The book was factual and as you can gather from the title was all about icky and yuk things. The description for this book on Amazon reads “What has 18 knees and can live for up to a week without a head? a) a cockroach, b) an earwig, c) a woodlouse. That kind of says it all really! I illystrated all manner of bizarre and silly things for this book – all the artwork was black and white, and drawn using a nib pen and black ink.
