Cute boy illustration
This is a digital cute boy illustration with his pet puffin, exploring the world around them. It has been created using traditional nib pen and indian ink. I then digitally coloured the entire image, using Adobe Photoshop. Although I have now changed from ink to pencil, because the effect is more appealing.
Cute boy illustration here we come! Can’t help my enthusiasm, as this is something different for me and all artists like to push themselves in new directions. It is actually an illustration I have already created conventionally using, nib pen and ink. It was then painted using watercolours, but I was keen to see if I could create a digital illustration of the same image. In this illustration I have kept close to my conventional style. I intend to try a different digital technique next, possibly using the same image, so that I can compare both effects and decide which I prefer and which is most effective. If you look closely will you notice a few genuine paint splashes that have been created using watercolour. Those were scanned and then digitally added to the artwork, and I think they blend in quite well with the digitally coloured sections of the illustration. The artwork and subject have been taken from one of three picture books I have written and which I currently being considered by a London based publisher. Obviously I am really hoping the project will go ahead and I would be happy to either work conventionally or digitally, whichever they prefer! @stone_lyn
