A grand, little green walk

I am truly lucky! My neighbour is farmland. Mostly crops with a few fluffy, sheep. So, A very short trip from my greenfront door is lots of green (or sometimes bright yellow, if it’s Rapeseed). I’ve been told that I roll along, like a sailor on choppy seas, which is probably made even more piratical with my walking stick. So I probably cut quite an odd character, conversing with nature.

Green, fields are calling

Anyway, I digress… I enjoy my green visits, as it allows my little grey cells to percolate and brew any flaky ideas I may have. Most of them are stories, wandering around in my head, waiting for the day I write them down. You see, I not only enjoy illustrating but storytelling too. One thing I do miss from my library days in London was story-time.

While admiring the view, I became aware of how many tiny, wildflowers were sprinkled everywhere, so decided to green
take some photos and here are the results! Now I’m no expert, so my labels are guesswork! And the bee you can just about see on the wild-thistle-thing was very disobliging! It took one beady-eyed look at my phone and decided to show the fuzzy end! So I’m afraid it’s not a Country Life calendar moment. What did surprise me when I got home was the fine, gossamer web draped, artistically over one flower that I hadn’t even noticed when I snapped the picture. Hopefully, I can use my snapshots at some point in an illustration, as the wild daisies and big blousy poppies are so beautiful.

Now somewhere in my art archive is an illustration of a field of wildflowers, but do you think ai can find it, of course not. So above is an illustration I did recently that uses a sprinkling of field, wildflowers.
