Modern Guinea Pig
Your average, modern Guinea Pig likes to dress well and stand out from the crowd, which is why a lovely client I recently worked with is setting up a new online shop that’s strictly Guinea Pig – and no other piggies are allowed!
What a fun and marvellous idea! She is calling her enterprise the Modern Guinea Pig Company and I hope to link to her new shop shortly. This was a great project for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What could be better? Here I am getting the opportunity to illustrate animals and design them as characters. Two of my favourite arty things to do. I had to create a series of four spots to go on the site, which will become important links within the online shop and a couple of A5 illustrations, which I am yet to find out how they will be used online. Exiting stuff!
I created the artwork by hand drawing the little piggies and then digitally colouring them, using watercolour brushes and water tools. This technique helped me to create artwork that looks more hand made. I like working traditionally too, in fact I secretly prefer it, but sometimes it makes more sense to use both techniques combined. I have included a couple of spots in this post too. Hope you like them?
