Silly
This is basically a very silly post.
Silly, because I’m sharing a rather bonkers day I had, right in the middle Storm Dennis. Personally I think it should have been called Dennis the Menace, as it caused so much damage across the UK. Anyway, I digress. Why was I out, dressed as a pilot in the middle of a huge storm, I hear you say? Well, I was taking part in a murder mystery, GPS Cluedo game. My friend and I had to dress up in something inspired by Peaky Blinders. My friend did a fabulous job, but I chickened out a bit. I wore a First World War pilot’s hat, goggles and scarf (erm, my attempt at it anyway). It was a cunning plan to stay warm and dry. And it worked! So my outfit inspired this post and artworks included.
Perky Peelers
We all had to create team names and ours was Perky Peelers, a bit of a nod to Peaky Blinders, but less violent, bloody and scary! Sadly we did not discover who the murderer was, namely because my poor phone, spluttered, coughed and died under the weight of excessive battery use. Most frustrating when you only have around 6 more witnesses to interview!
British Eccentricity
May I add we were not alone, there were plenty of other groups, all in flat caps and dodgy looking suites? Huddled together against the rain and the wind, squalling around them they valiantly attempted to solved the case. Only the British would battle against a storm strong enough to be given a name, in the name of ‘jolly good fun.’ Oddly despite the storm and tempest, it really was good fun. Especially when you find yourself sheltering in a quant tea shop with tea and chocolate cake — and the witnesses start coming to you!
