Well, let’s hope not, hey? Top secret, because I’m going to be talking about two current clients, without giving anything vital away! That would be a big no-no and a tad unprofessional. However, I wanted to share the love. I am thoroughly enjoying two very different commissions in the lead up to the season of madness (that’s Christmas by the way).
The Golden Girls!
One commission is for a New York based theatre company and it’s a wonderful promotional poster. Just like the hit 1980s American comedy show The Golden Girls, its sassy, naughty and characterful, but doesn’t give away too much. The cast will be changing, so I had to avoid character representation. So I have found a sneaky, novel way of doing this without showing anything that would look like any current cast members!The colour palette is autumnal, so lots of bright, warm tones. I’m itching to show and tell, but can’t! Not yet…
Carry on Camping!
No, I have not been working on a remake of the 1969 British comedy classic, but it is a bit of a carry on. Its a good bit of narrative illustration for me to work on and it’s great fun. Its a reading guide, a format I’ve illustrated many times over the years. This one is set in an American camp site, complete with skunks, who really do kick up a stink in this funny story. The client has allowed me to make the characters quite humorous and a bit odd ball, which I think matches the story quite well. But, yet again, I cannot share too much in this post until it’s published.
