Waiting game

Waiting game again!

When I know I’ve got to do something, I like to get started. Don’t put off ’til tomorrow what you can do today, and all that. waiting gameAnd I’m quite a
patient individual – anyone who travels on British trains learns to endure periods of inactivity, but this is different. I’m playing the Waiting Game. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve got two jobs pending – this is A Good Thing, no doubt of that. The powers that be have just got to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. Or cross their eyes, possibly. Anyway, whatever they’re doing, I just wish they’ve get on with it. Here I sit, pen in hand, feet in the metaphorical starting-blocks… and any minute now I’m going to get the shout of ‘ready… steady… go!’ and then there won’t be enough hours in the day. Until then, I can only noodle about, knowing that if I start something else I’ll only have to put it aside when the other stuff kicks off. Domestic improvements seem ill-starred at the moment too. I won’t bore you with the saga of the new lino, which was so badly laid that my floor looked like a scale model of the Mendip hills. Suffice to say I won’t be going back to that particular firm in a hurry!

Anyway, hopefully by the next blog, I’ll be up and running, and the ink will be flowing like champagne. I think that’s what I mean. But for now, as I leave you, I’m like the person at the top of the bungee–jump waiting to be pushed off into the beyond. (Don’t you just love the word bungee? It seems to encompass all the bouncy, springy-ness of the actual thing itself. Bun-geeeeeeeee!)

Um… you can tell I’m getting a little stir crazy, can’t you? Tweet me for further craziness!
