Woman Cave
My studio (or Woman Cave) is really more of a messy area that doubles as my indoor garden. I am therefore often
surrounded by lemon trees, fruit plants and I must not forget my geraniums.
A bit of a pickle
So like most creative people, its a little chaotic in there at times. I got the idea to write a post about the space I work in yesterday. I was busy helping my Father photograph some chairs he’s restored, when on using my digital camera I found some photos of work in progress I must have taken about a year or two ago.
Dragon in my studio!
Some of the photos are of my whacky pilot dragon I created and which is now on my website. So today I’m sharing the studio, some in progress shots and the final artwork. I’ve also managed to find a photo of my Studio Assistant, Louis Cat. I’m not sure he’s particularly helpful, as he does tend to have that catty thing of sitting on whatever you’re working on. That’s fine if it’s dry (and he hasn’t been mud wrestling in the garden), but when it’s wet, oh my, his little paws can cause havoc!
Here’s my dragon, which is loosely inspired by World War RAF Pilots (hence the dorky period hat and goggles). No doubt if my dragon could speak, she would say, “Chocks away chaps. I’ll be back soon for a Coco.” Anyway he or she has been hand drawn and in this instance hand painted using watercolours.
A snail on my ceiling
This is more than a change of subject, but I must just mention that there is a snail fast asleep. On my ceiling! In my Woman Cave! How did it get there? Is it a bionic snail? An Olympic champion snail or maybe its a time travelling snail. Anyway, here it is…
